What is not included in these prices?

These totals are equipment only. Budget separately for installation labour, the mounting structure or roof frame, AC-side wiring and distribution board work, and any earthing or lightning arrestor the site needs. As a rough guide, installation and structure typically add 15–25% on top of the equipment cost, depending on roof type and how far the array sits from the inverter.

How many units will a 5kW solar system generate per day?

A 5kW array in Bangladesh generates roughly 20 to 22 units per day averaged across the year, working on about 4.2 peak sun hours. Expect more in the dry winter months and noticeably less through the monsoon, when heavy cloud can cut output by half for days at a time.

Over a year that is around 7,000 to 7,500 units. Set against your current tariff, that is the number to divide your system cost by when you work out payback.

How long will the battery run my house during load shedding?

A 10.24kWh LiFePO4 battery gives about 8.2kWh of usable energy after leaving the recommended reserve in the pack. Running a 500W essential load — lights, fans, router and a fridge cycling — that is roughly 16 hours. At a 1kW load it is about 8 hours.

LiFePO4 is what makes this practical. A lead-acid bank of the same nominal size gives you barely half the usable energy, and it will not survive daily deep cycling for more than a few years.

Do I need a battery, or is an on-grid system enough?

An on-grid system is cheaper because it has no battery, but it shuts down the moment the grid fails — that is a mandatory safety behaviour, not a fault. If your reason for going solar is load shedding, an on-grid system will not help you at all.

Choose on-grid only if your goal is purely to cut the electricity bill and your supply is reliable. For most homes in Bangladesh, hybrid plus battery is the configuration that actually solves the problem.

What size solar system do I need for my home?

Work from your electricity bill, not from your roof. Take your monthly units, divide by 30 to get daily units, then divide by about 4.2 to get the kW of array you need. A home using 300 units a month needs roughly 2.5kW; 600 units a month needs about 5kW.
